English Conversation Classes
First established in 1978, with the slogan “Wouldn’t you like to pick up some basic practical English skills?”, a second class was added from 1984 due the popular demand. The classes were so popular that they’d book out within just a few days due to the flood of applicants. These days rather than having a cut-off, applicants are chosen by random lottery, but the classes still have many applicants, and are as popular as ever. The two classes (the beginners’ class and the “Let’s talk” class) each consist of 10 lessons, and are held over approximately 3 months from September to November. The classes are taught by native English speakers, in a cheerful, friendly atmosphere. The beginners’ class has a Japanese teaching assistant, so even complete beginners can participate without worry, and the classes are enjoyable no matter how many times you take them. With everyone’s help we’ve now held these classes 34 times, and we’re looking forward to the 35th in 2012! We want to continue to make these classes not just a fun way to learn English, but also a cozy atmosphere were participants can make friends and get to know each other, so please join us!
