“Back to School” English Classes
These classes began in 2009, and are a chance for adults who learned English at school, but in the meantime have gotten rusty and would like to study it again, to brush up on junior high school English grammar.
Of course, it’s hard to cover 3 years’ worth of grammar in just 10 lessons, so since 2010 the course has been upgraded to 12 lessons each year (September-November).
Mr. Kazumi Shimoda, a former junior high school English teacher in Sakai, is the class’s passionate teacher. The textbook is composed in an easy-to-understand manner, and is extremely popular.
Also, though some course-takers initially dislike being called on in class, the overwhelming feedback is that once you get used to it you begin to notice how your English ability is steadily improving, and by the end of the course students are hooked!
This course is recommended to people who would like to brush up on their English, but aren’t so confident, since it starts from the junior high school level. It’s never too late, so please give it a go!
