New Zealand Cultural Understanding Seminars
This new course of seminars replaces the Kiwi Cooking Classes, which have been held 19 times since 2000, and aims to cultivate a better understanding of New Zealand, by having people who have lived in New Zealand talk about things like New Zealand cuisine or tourist facilities, and share their experiences. At the first seminar, Sakai’s Wellingtonian CIR gave a brief English talk on food in New Zealand, and we welcomed the Chef of a Kiwi restaurant here in Kansai as the main speaker, who told us much about Kiwi Cuisine. Afterwards there was a Wine-tasting of three NZ Wines, and attendees were able to buy difficult to get in Japan New Zealand Honey and Wines. With a relaxed atmosphere from start to finish, attendees were able to gain a good understanding of food in New Zealand. We’d like to hold more seminars like this in the future to introduce New Zealand culture from a variety of angles, so please come along if you’re interested at all!
